Column mounted jib cranes have their own foundation. That separates them from wall mounted jib cranes, which are of course counting on the wall for support. There are other features that separate them, too, and then there are also differences among the various jib cranes supported by steel columns. What is the role of a column mounted jib crane (papel de grúa de columna)?
Jib cranes are supposed to be really strong. That being said, the column mounted jib crane is going to be even stronger than the wall mounted jib crane. (grúa de pared.) It isn’t counting on your wall for support. There is a steel column in place, and you can be assured that the beam is going to be very supportive. There are great reasons to consider wall mounted cranes as well, but this column jib is going to be extra strong for sure.
One of the roles of the column jib crane, too, is that it’s supposed to be easy to use. What that means for you is that you’re going to have an easier time training workers at your facility to use one of these cranes. Not only that, but you can count on the fact that these are not manual jibs. The steel column jib cranes are electrically powered.
That last fact has everything to do with them being easier to use as well. A jib crane in general is supposed to be electrically powered by the way. So keep that in mind as you are looking more closely at the different types of jibs and which one you need. Another fact about the role of the jib crane is people say that they are very reliable.
There aren’t many parts on a jib crane (partes de grúa pluma) that move. Since most of the structure is fixed, you’re not looking at all these parts that could swivel and break more easily. To be sure, that doesn’t mean that jib cranes can’t need work done from time to time, but you’re looking at a reliable structure and design for sure.
You can count on jib cranes to do the delicate lifting for you, and you can count on them to do swift lifting, too. You’re going to want to keep in mind the slewing range of the jib crane that you set up. What is the slewing range? It’s the range in which the jib crane can operate.
There are some jib cranes that have a 360 degree slewing range. That type of range is ideal in certain environments, and not something you get from a wall mounted jib crane. A wall mounted jib crane would only have 180 degree slewing range at best.
You can see that there are different mounting options. Does a column mounted jib crane still sound like the best solution?
